Hard to maintain centreline with 30kt crosswind takeoff

Post by Driver170 »

All controls are assigned via prosim737.

I use tiller and rudder pedals so separate assignment.

I set a 90* crosswind 30kts and during takeoff roll 24k it was very difficult to maintain centre line. I mean i had full rudder authority for a 30kt crosswind? Something is wrong I could barely keep on the centre of the runway. No way at 30kts would it struggle

The max demonstrated crosswind is 33 kts for the NG with winglets.
Hope you understand what the "demonstrated" word means in this regard...
I wouldn't easily let myself to be persuaded to be a passenger on a plane, where you are in the left seat and communicate the struggle at 30 kts...

Just noticed when i move my rudder pedals on the ground the NSW doesn’t even move? I have set everything up as i should. I think thats the problem.

I have not tested prosim737 under those conditions yet, but I can confirm that you must work with your rudders (and also apply ailerons) when you have 30kts x-wind during TO in a real 737-800.
