Cockpit Voice Recorder - Release

Post by andreseko »

PLEASE do not reply to anything in this post, please start a new thread. I would like to keep this post for release only that way users can find the latest updates easier and quicker

This addon was created for those who enjoy a simulation closer to the real.
This software is free.

What does it do?

Does exactly what the actual cockpit voice recorder, recording the sounds of the cockpit.

Was developed according to the rules described in the FCOM boeing, with some adjustments to the virtual world simulation.

Writes audio files with up to a maximum of 30 minutes as requested FAA. Every 30 minutes a new file is created keeping the audio already created.

TEST function: While pressing the button, the sound recording and releasing performs the recorded sound.

Function ERASE: Erases all audio files created more than 48 hours. The NTSB recommends that the recorder stores the last 2 hours of flight, so the function has been changed to maintain files for simulation purposes only.

Requirements:

- FSUIPC and .net 4.0
- Sound board
- Microphone connected sound board
- Disk Space

Info: audio every 30 minutes is about the size of 115MB

Any suggestion and critics are welcome so you can evolve and increasingly closer to the real world.

Hope you enjoy.

Regards

Thanks for sharing buddy..

Whatever brings the cockpit closer to reality, I'm in..

I'll probably use it for fun and for the completion of all the systems.. :)

I think you need to do some work on your audio compression. A 30 minute uncompressed mono wav file is about 150MB. A compressed mono mp3 compressed to speech quality is about 12MB.

Hi NedHamilton

The next update will add support for 4 audio channels.

How will it work?

Exactly how is the real equipment. There will be a menu setting to select an audio card that supports 4 channels or more, which will be recorded individual mono channels.

- I will implement support SIOC and other hardware
- Support for more audio channels
- Channel 1: ambience of the cockpit;
- Channel 2: headphone and microphone pilot;
- Channel 3: headphone and microphone F / O;
- Channel 4: headphone and microphone observer / Instructor

I know that the *.wav are great but I'm already seeing a plugin for mp3 compression that can be integrated into the burner to reduce disk usage.

Hi,

Well I see that the author of the program was last seen on the ProSim website on 22 June 2015, so I'm afraid that he's not reading these posts anymore. You might try to write a PM to him. If his personal settings allow it, he will get a notification that he received a PM, but he can turn off these notifications and in that case, I'm afraid that it is end of story for now until he decides to come back to the forum again. ;)
Best Regards,
Gert
