My temp. fix to the FS2020 Flightmodel

Post by eiketre »

Since Asobo updated msfs 2020 to 1.16.x, the ProSimB38M flightmodel has not been working. It generated to much lift with flaps and rudder was very sensitive.

I made two minor changes to B38M flight model config file. These changes make it possible for me to still enjoy ProSim with fs2020. These changes are only a temporary fix that I am using until ProSim comes with an updated flightmodel. It is probably not recommended to try to do any changes.
I have tested the changes with Power/Pitch tables (f40, 3dg) and also done 30kts x-wind landings. Nothing more.

This is how I did it:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\prosim-b38m\SimObjects\Airplanes\prosim_b38m\

Edit file: flight_model.cfg

Go to section:
[AERODYNAMICS]
Change the following:

lift_coef_flaps = 1.036864
yaw_moment_delta_rudder = 0.008886718

I just placed a ‘0’ behind the decimal and kept the numbers.

Regarding rudder. Check that u have correct tiller/rudder config set in ProSimIOS.

Again, this is only a temporary fix that works for me until ProSim comes with an updated version.

I do not know if this works for the NG.

Hello,

thanks for the info, works for me (738) too.
The aircraft lands much better now.
And the issue, that sometimes the aircraft climbs like a rocket during final approach has stopped.
