ProSim B738 PBR 2020 SODE Jetways

I had problems trying to get the SODE autodock of the jetways to work properly with the ProSim-AR flight model. ( not just the new 2020 pbr, but the 2 previous versions as well ).

Prosim provides config files for GSX, however I do not use GSX. I use SODE Jetways and VGDS. Normally SODE autodock(if enabled) will automatically dock the SODE jetway to the Front left passenger door when parking at the gate and then setting parking brake, shutting down engines, and turning off beacon. Likewise at departure, turning on the beacon will auto Undock the jetway. This is not working with the Prosim models.

SODE normally looks in the aircraft.cfg to determine the doors/exits and their positions.
I finally discovered that the order of the [exits] in aircraft.cfg was confusing SODE. SODE debug was showing it couldn't find an entry for door 2L, when indeed there is one in the aircraft.cfg - the entry at exit.2 This is not an error in the prosim aircraft.cfg, but confused SODE for whatever reason. ( I think SODE expects exit.0 to be 1L and exit.1 to be 2L, but shouldn't matter since by default SODE only uses door 1L for the B73x series) )

I was able to get this to work by putting a custom entry in the SODE AircraftExits.ini. This tells SODE to look for an entry here for any overrides. If nothing found, it defaults to the aircraft.cfg.
The parameters are the same as in the aircraft.cfg so it was a simple matter of copying those values to the ini file. Here is the updated entry to make this work. ( Note this works for all 3 versions of the Prosim 738 flight model)

Door leds

I know this has been mentioned before but can't seem to find it now. But is there anyway to make the overhead door leds match what the model is doing in the Sim? Running prosim v2. 27 with model 2019 pro and gsx v1.

Thanks.

Re: No steady light on its own

I'm with Pete, Bernie and Wpslider? I don't think I have your problem Iain.

I believe my cockpit set up works as it should (The last time I was pointing out the 737 exterior lighting to a visitor, about 2 months ago).
Basically, I have the '2019' PBR 737 version and the .lau lighting file in the correct place. My three position Prosim/pokeys 'Position' switch is set up the same as Bernie's screenshot (Centre OFF). When I position the switch to down, I get the three steady lights. When I switch it up I get the flashing lights plus the red and green.

I'll check again later today when I fire up the cockpit down the shed. I generally don't reposition my three screen view outside the cockpit much. Generally, only to watch GSX doing it's stuff. I have the 'Position' lights off at that stage, and maybe only the 'Collision' lights on.

ProSim737 Flight Model 2019

Hi,
have just played around in the model of the ProSim 737-800 in 2018 and 2019 and am not sure, whether I copied and pasted accidentially the wrong way arround.

Like always did not make a copy before. Finally both Models show the same GSX.cfg and Topcat.cfg. Not sure if this is correct.

Would somebody send the actual once if necessary ?

Re: GSX2 Update and ProSim 737

Well I finally cracked how to use that crappy 3D editor in GSX andnow have a fully and correctly working refuelling system .
For those who are interested the numbers I get are in the attached image. They are not a lot like some I have seen mentioned which is weird as the external model is the same in all cases I would have thought
GSX Fuel.jpg
What is more interesting is the numbers in the gsx.cfg file are different for the height value, so no idea what it represents as I thought it was the height from ground level
fuelpos = 13.03 -4.36 0.86

Re: GSX2 Update and ProSim 737

Hi Aussie,

Yep, done all of that and made sure I was using the correct and latest PBR flight model.

I have tried to adjust it by manually editing the gsx.cfg file and also using that inept piece of kit that FSdreamteam call the 3D editor. It is so unfriendly to use but I have manipulated the fuel box in it so that it is in a suitable location on the right wing but when the fuelling truck turns up, moosh still ends up about 3 metres up in the air above the wing. I've only tried it at one airport so far, Flytampa's EHAM, so will try another one tomorrow in case it is scenery elevations causing the issue.

I'm sure there is a fine line between what height dimension works and what doesn't so I will continue in my quest until I get fed up with it and then I'll go and do something more worthwhile.

All files are placed exactly where they should be and all the doors, traffic cones, baggage loaders, push back trucks, etc., etc work a treat so it isn't finger trouble on the part of the user.

Re: GSX2 Update and ProSim 737

I don't understand?

When you open the GSX menu, for customise Aircraft, you should have the silhouette of a 737. It is important that the title up the top is the same name as the aircraft you are sitting in eg. the Prosim-AR 737 PBR. When you make the Fuel point location adjustments there, and close the window, it will be saved into the single config file.

If you installed the PBR aircraft (as per the directions) and placed the supplied files in the correct area, GSX is opening the GSX config file that came with the Prosim PBR aircraft. (to check, click on one of the door Exits and it will have a formula in the custom field)

It should just all work, with cargo loaders and stairs aligning well, GSX knowing when they are open or closed, and with this minor adjustment to the Fuel position, the new Fuel truck is compatible as well.

Re: GSX2 Update and ProSim 737

Hi Ron,

I had the same problem; I tried your suggestion in the aircraft custumization tab of GSX, and it works. Now I have to find out how to use it in the gsx.xml file, this has not been successfull yet.

Re: GSX2 Update and ProSim 737

Hi Aussie,
So - for the Prosim 737 PBR, many of us have found that 11.00 metres out from the centreline (remember the wings slope upwards) and -2.80 metres back from the pivot point looks suitable, and we then tell GSX2 that the fuel caps are 3.48 metres above the ground at that point.
So from what you are saying the input in my gsx.cfg file should look like this: -

fuelpos = 11.00, -2.08, 3.48

'cos I've tried just about everything and the Fsdreamteam manual is about as a much use as a chocolate teapot

Re: GSX2 Update and ProSim 737

Sorry to drag this post up again but can somebody who has got this working please post his values for the "fuelpos " in the gsx.cfg file.

I have 11.00, -4-05, 0.63 which has been published on here but I get the animated fuelling man standing in thin air above the wing.
I've tried using 3.50, 3.49 & 3.48 as the last number and all I get is a standard bowser, not the ramp fuelling type pump.

This is what mine looks like, which some of you also had so what is the "magic" number please.
